Located about 4 miles (6.4 km) northeast of Marco Island's central business district and roughly 12 miles south of downtown Naples, it is a practical entry point for private and charter travelers visiting the Paradise Coast.
The airport dates to the 1970s, when it was developed to support the growing Marco Island resort area. A new 16,500-square-foot terminal opened in 2021, replacing the original building and adding modern passenger lounges, flight planning stations, rental car concessions and office space while improving ramp and safety capacity.
The airport has a single 5,000-foot asphalt runway and operates as a non-towered public use facility. Ground access relies primarily on private vehicles, rental cars, taxis and pre-arranged transfers, with Marco Island just minutes away and Naples, Goodland and the Isles of Capri easily reached by road.
