March Air Reserve Base is a joint-use military and civilian airfield serving Riverside and the western Inland Empire region of Southern California. The civilian side, operated as March Inland Port Airport, handles general aviation, corporate and cargo activity alongside the base's Air Force Reserve operations.
The airfield was established in 1918 as Alessandro Flying Training Field and has operated for more than a century, making it one of the oldest continuously used airfields in the United States. It is located in Riverside County between Riverside, Moreno Valley and Perris, roughly 10 miles southeast of downtown Riverside and about 70 miles east of Los Angeles.
The facility features a 13,300-foot main runway and large aircraft parking aprons. The civilian general aviation terminal, completed in 2015, is served by fixed-base operator Million Air and provides lounges, a café, conference rooms, Wi-Fi and ground transportation support for arriving and departing passengers.
The airport is reached via the I-215 corridor, with the Moreno Valley/March Field Metrolink station near the entrance, along with local roads, taxis, rental cars and private transfer services connecting to Riverside, Moreno Valley, Perris and the wider Inland Empire.
