Mara Serena Airport is a small safari airstrip located within the Maasai Mara National Reserve, in Narok County, southwestern Kenya, close to the border with Tanzania. It sits at an elevation of about 1,707 metres and has a single unpaved runway measuring roughly 1,050 metres.
The airstrip primarily supports tourism in the Maasai Mara, serving Mara Serena Safari Lodge and many of the camps and lodges spread across the reserve. Scheduled operators and charter flights connect it with Nairobi Wilson Airport and other domestic destinations, making it a practical air gateway for safari travelers.
Facilities are intentionally simple: most arrivals are met at the small passenger shelter and continue by safari vehicle to nearby lodges and camps. While road access to Nairobi is possible, the journey is long, so most visitors reach the reserve by air and arrange transfers in advance.
