Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport (MID)

Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport is the main airport serving Mérida, the capital of Yucatán, and the wider Yucatán Peninsula. It handles domestic and international flights and functions as an important gateway for travelers visiting the region's colonial cities, Maya archaeological sites and Gulf Coast areas. The airport opened in 1929 and has since been modernized and expanded. Today it operates from a single passenger terminal with separate areas for domestic and international operations, providing check-in, arrivals, dining, shopping and other passenger services in one compact complex. Located approximately 7 km southwest of central Mérida, the airport is one of the closest major Mexican airports to its city centre. Travelers can reach the city by taxi, ADO bus, private transfer, chauffeur service or rental car, with travel times generally around 20–30 minutes depending on traffic. With connections to destinations across Mexico, the United States, Canada, Central America and the Caribbean, the airport provides convenient access to Mérida and nearby Yucatán highlights such as Progreso, Celestún, Uxmal and Chichén Itzá.
