About Manley Hot Springs Airport

Manley Hot Springs Airport is a state-owned, public-use general aviation airport serving the small community of Manley Hot Springs in Alaska's Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area. The airfield was activated in November 1949 and remains an important access point for a remote interior community with no scheduled commercial airline service.

Located immediately southwest of the village and about 160 road miles west of Fairbanks, the airport has a single gravel runway, Runway 18/36, measuring 3,400 by 60 feet, with medium-intensity runway edge lighting. The facility is unattended and has no control tower; pilots use the CTAF/UNICOM frequency 122.8 and rely on the Fairbanks Flight Service Station.

The airport supports general aviation, charter flights and bush operations serving residents and visitors travelling to the hot springs, the Tanana River area and interior Alaska. Minor airframe and powerplant services and aircraft tiedowns are available, but fuel and terminal amenities are not provided on site.

Ground access is via the Elliott Highway, which connects Manley Hot Springs with Fairbanks. Private vehicles, pre-arranged transfers and other ground transport are the main options, since public transit and on-airport car rental are not available, so travelers should plan their onward journey in advance.
