LTS Pulau Redang Airport (RDN)

LTS Pulau Redang Airport is the small island airport serving Pulau Redang, a resort island off the coast of Terengganu in northeastern Malaysia. Built to support the island's growing tourism industry, the airport was briefly closed in 2009 for runway expansion and reopened on 16 April 2009 with upgraded facilities.

Located on Redang Island in the Kuala Nerus district, the airport functions primarily as a gateway for travellers heading to beach resorts and dive centres. Its single runway lies along the base of a long ridge immediately to the west, and the compact passenger terminal handles a limited number of charter and scheduled flights, mainly operated by Berjaya Air.

Because the airport sits on an island, most onward journeys continue by boat. Resort transfers connect passengers to hotels around Pulau Redang, while ferries from nearby jetties link the island to Merang Jetty and Shahbandar Jetty on the mainland, where road transport continues to Kuala Terengganu.

For travellers, the airport offers a direct but simple arrival point on the island. Its small terminal keeps check-in and arrivals straightforward, and the surrounding resorts provide the dining, shopping and leisure facilities that the terminal itself does not offer at scale.
