About Long Beach Airport
Long Beach Airport is the main commercial airport serving Long Beach and a convenient alternative gateway for the Greater Los Angeles area and Orange County. One of the oldest airports in California, it marked its 100th anniversary in 2023 and is known for its relaxed, resort-style atmosphere and historic terminal.
Located about three miles northeast of downtown Long Beach, the airport offers nonstop domestic flights through a single terminal divided into North and South Concourses. Major carriers including Southwest, Delta and Hawaiian connect travelers to destinations across the United States, including Hawaii.
The historic terminal building, completed in 1941, has been carefully preserved and modernized through a $125 million improvement program. Passengers move through ticketing, security and baggage claim within a compact, easy-to-navigate layout, with an open-air garden and local dining options in the concourse.
The airport is connected to Long Beach and surrounding communities by Long Beach Transit buses, taxis, rideshare services, rental cars and on-site parking, with downtown Long Beach roughly a 10–15 minute drive away. Its location also puts the region's coastal attractions, business districts and Anaheim within easy reach.
