Loakan Airport (BAG)

Loakan Airport is the only airport serving Baguio City, a highland city in the Cordillera Administrative Region of the Philippines. It was built in 1934 and operates as a small, elevated airfield at roughly 1,296 metres above sea level, under the supervision of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.

Located about 7 km southeast of central Baguio, the airport provides a gateway for domestic travel to the Summer Capital of the Philippines and nearby mountain communities. Over the years it has connected Baguio with destinations such as Manila and Cebu, while also handling chartered, general aviation and military flights.

The airport has a single passenger terminal and a relatively short runway, which limits the size of aircraft that can operate there. Passengers continue their journey into Baguio by taxi or private vehicle, with most hotels, business areas and attractions only a short drive away.

Despite its modest scale, Loakan Airport remains an important air link for the Cordillera region, offering a direct arrival point for travelers headed to Baguio's cooler highland climate, parks, markets and surrounding mountain towns.
