About Linz Airport
Linz Airport is the main commercial airport serving Linz, the capital of Upper Austria, and the surrounding region. Opened in 1955 at its current site in Hörsching, the airport handles scheduled and charter flights alongside a significant air freight operation.
Located about 12 km southwest of central Linz, the airport provides connections to domestic and international destinations such as Frankfurt, London and selected European holiday routes. Its compact single terminal keeps walking distances short and places check-in, security, departures and arrivals close together.
The airport is connected to Linz by bus line 601, which reaches the main station and city centre in around 20 minutes, while the nearby Hörsching railway station links to Linz and Wels. Taxis, rental cars, private transfers and road access via the A1 and A25 motorways provide further onward travel options.
A modernized passenger terminal, lounges, dining, shopping, free Wi-Fi and passenger services make it a convenient gateway for business travellers, leisure visitors and cargo traffic in Upper Austria.
