Las Vegas Municipal Airport is a public general aviation airport serving Las Vegas, New Mexico and northeastern New Mexico. Located about five miles northeast of the city in San Miguel County, the airport was activated in December 1946, while the site has earlier aviation roots as a stop on the Denver–El Paso air route flown by Mid-Continental Air Express from 1929.
The airport operates as a non-towered facility with two asphalt runways: Runway 14/32 at 8,199 feet and Runway 02/20 at 5,006 feet. It primarily supports private aircraft, business aviation and charter operations, and provides aviation fuel, aircraft parking, hangars and tiedowns, and maintenance services through its fixed-base operator.
Reached by road from Las Vegas, the airport serves as a convenient point of arrival for travelers heading to the city center and onward destinations such as Santa Fe to the southwest and Taos and Angel Fire to the north. Local taxis, rental cars and prearranged private transfers provide connections from the airfield.
