Langkawi International Airport (LGK)

Langkawi International Airport is the main airport serving Langkawi Island in Kedah, Malaysia. It connects the island with domestic destinations and a growing range of international routes, and it functions as the primary air gateway for holidaymakers, island residents and business travelers.

Located at Padang Matsirat on the western side of the island, the airport operates a single passenger terminal that handles both domestic and international flights. The site was used as a military airfield before the modern airport was developed, with construction starting in 1991 and the current terminal completed in December 1993; a further upgrade and expansion was completed in 2018.

The airport sits about 18 km from Kuah, the island's main town, and around 8 km from the popular Pantai Cenang beach area. Travelers can continue to hotels and resorts by taxi, ride-hailing services, local bus, rental car or pre-booked private transfer.
