Lake Placid Airport is a public-use general aviation airport serving the village of Lake Placid and the wider Adirondack High Peaks region of New York State. It opened in January 1939 and is owned by the Town of North Elba through the North Elba Park District.
Located about one nautical mile southeast of the Lake Placid village centre, the airport provides access for private aircraft, charters, flight instruction and business aviation rather than scheduled airline service. The facility has a single asphalt runway, Runway 14/32, and sits at approximately 1,747 feet above sea level.
The airport is reached easily by road, with taxis, private transfers and rental cars available for the short trip into Lake Placid and onward travel to Saranac Lake and other Adirondack communities.
