Lake County Executive Airport (LNN)

Lake County Executive Airport is a public-use general aviation airport serving Willoughby, Mentor and the wider Lake County area east of Cleveland. It functions as a reliever airport for the region, providing a base for private pilots, corporate aircraft, charter jets, flight instruction and local businesses.

The site's flying history dates to 1929, when an 88-acre dairy farm was first used as a flying field, and the airport was formally established in 1931. Long known as Lost Nation Airport, the facility was transferred from the City of Willoughby to the Lake County Ohio Port and Economic Development Authority in 2014 and later renamed Lake County Executive Airport.

Located about 3 miles north of downtown Willoughby and roughly 16 miles east of downtown Cleveland, the airport has two asphalt runways: runway 5/23 at 5,028 feet by 100 feet and runway 10/28 at 4,272 feet by 100 feet. On-site services include AWOS-3 weather reporting and the Classic Jet Center fixed-base operator, which provides fuel, maintenance, hangar storage and passenger amenities.

The airport is reached from Lost Nation Road, near Interstate 90 and State Route 91, giving road access to Cleveland, Lake Erie shoreline communities and the rest of northeast Ohio. A new 5,800-square-foot terminal broke ground in 2025 and is expected to open in 2026, expanding passenger waiting areas, pilot amenities, meeting space and airport operations facilities.
