Kelly Field Airport (SKF)

Kelly Field Airport is a joint-use civil-military airfield serving San Antonio, Texas, and the surrounding region. It supports Lackland Air Force Base and the Port San Antonio aerospace and logistics campus, focusing on military flying, general aviation, business aviation and air cargo operations rather than scheduled commercial passenger service.

Located about 4 miles (6 km) southwest of downtown San Antonio, the airfield provides a convenient alternative for general and business aviation, while San Antonio International Airport handles most commercial airline traffic. Kelly Field has deep military roots and now operates as part of Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland under a joint-use agreement with Port San Antonio.

The airport features a single long runway of about 11,500 feet (3,520 m), which supports heavy-lift and project cargo in addition to military and civil aircraft. Civil operations are served through the Port San Antonio civil ramp and the Atlantic Aviation fixed-base operator, with an on-site Federal Inspection Station and air cargo facilities.

Kelly Field is reached by road from central San Antonio, with connections to Interstate 10, Interstate 35 and Interstate 37. Rental cars, taxis, private transfers and chauffeur services make it easy to continue to downtown San Antonio, local hotels, the River Walk and destinations across the Texas Hill Country.
