The airport is located about 30 km south-southwest of Radisson on the Billy-Diamond Highway, with a well-maintained road linking it to the town year-round. It is used primarily to shuttle Hydro-Québec personnel between Radisson and larger cities in Quebec, and it also handles regular scheduled flights operated by Air Inuit to Montreal and Nunavik communities.
The four-storey terminal was constructed in 1973 and 1974 and expanded in 1991 with a new terminal building and several service buildings. Passenger facilities include a waiting area, washrooms, free parking, taxi service and bus connections.
