About La Florida Airport
La Florida Airport is the main airport serving Tumaco and the southern Pacific coast of Colombia's Nariño department. It provides the key air connection between this port city and domestic destinations such as Cali and Bogotá, serving travellers, business visitors and residents of surrounding coastal communities.
The airport is located on El Morro island, about 4 km from central Tumaco, and operates a single passenger terminal with one asphalt runway of roughly 1,600 metres. Regional airlines including SATENA and Avianca use the airport for daytime domestic services.
Taxis and local transport connect the terminal with the city centre, and the short distance keeps onward travel quick. A modernization programme is underway to expand the passenger terminal and improve runway capacity.
The compact terminal offers basic passenger services, a café or snack options, and waiting areas, making the airport a practical entry point for visitors arriving in the Tumaco area and the wider Nariño coast.
