About Kuito Airport
Kuito Airport, also known as Joaquim Kapango Airport, is the main airport serving Kuito, the capital of Bié Province in central Angola. The current facility was modernized by China Railway 20th Bureau Group Corporation and inaugurated in October 2019 as a key transport hub for the Bié Plateau.
Located about 1 km southeast of Kuito city centre, the airport handles domestic passenger services. TAAG Angola Airlines connects Kuito with Luanda and Menongue, and the 2,500-metre runway allows Boeing 737 jet aircraft to operate.
The airport is easy to reach by taxi, private transfer or rental car, with a short road connection into the city and nearby areas of Bié Province.
Passenger facilities include a modern terminal building with a VIP building, check-in and waiting areas, car parking and road access, making the airport a practical gateway for travel in central Angola.
