Koliganek Airport is a state-owned, public-use airfield serving the small Yup'ik village of Koliganek on the Nushagak River in southwestern Alaska. Because the community is not connected to the state road network, the airport provides essential access for passenger travel, mail and supplies, linking the village with regional hubs such as Dillingham.
The airport opened in 1997, replacing an earlier site, and operates a single gravel runway designated 09/27. It mainly handles light aircraft and regional air taxi services, with a compact single-storey terminal used for check-in, waiting and boarding, while baggage is loaded and unloaded manually at the apron.
Located about 2 km east of the village centre, the airport is reached by local road, private vehicles or ATVs. There are no taxi ranks, car rental agencies or public buses at the airfield, so most travellers arrange onward transport with village residents, lodges or their air carrier.
Despite its limited infrastructure, the facility serves as a practical gateway for residents and visitors moving within the Bristol Bay region, with onward connections by air to Dillingham and nearby communities.
