About Kohat Airport
Kohat Airport, also known as PAF Base Kohat, is a Pakistan Air Force airfield located in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The site has a long military history, having served as an operational base of the Royal Air Force during British colonial rule before becoming a training base for PAF airmen.
Located close to central Kohat and roughly 150 km west of Islamabad, the airfield has a single asphalt runway and supports military training and related air operations. It also functions as a satellite airbase used for emergency landing and recovery of aircraft.
Because it is an active military installation, access is restricted and there are no regular scheduled commercial passenger services. Travelers moving through the area generally arrange private transport to reach Kohat city or continue to nearby destinations such as Hangu and Peshawar.
The surrounding region is well connected by road, and the airfield's position near Kohat makes it practical for authorized visitors and personnel traveling within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
