King Khalid International Airport is the main international airport serving Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, and the surrounding central region. Opened in 1983, it is one of the Kingdom's major gateways and a hub for Saudia and flynas, with connections to destinations across the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe.
The airport operates five passenger terminals plus a dedicated Royal Terminal. Since a major terminal reorganization completed in early 2026, Terminals 1 and 2 handle international flights operated by Saudi national carriers, Terminals 3 and 4 serve domestic flights, and Terminal 5 is reserved for international flights operated by foreign airlines.
Located about 35 km north of central Riyadh, the airport is connected to the city by road and by the Riyadh Metro's Yellow Line, which links the terminal complex with King Abdullah Financial District and onward metro stations. Taxis, private transfers and rental cars provide additional ways to reach hotels and other parts of the city.
