About Kéniéba Airport
Kéniéba Airport is a small public airport serving Kéniéba, a town and commune in the Kéniéba Cercle of Mali's Kayes Region. Situated near the Mali–Senegal border, it supports local travel in a rural, gold-mining area of south-western Mali.
The airport lies roughly 3 km west of Kéniéba town at an elevation of about 137 metres. It has a single unpaved runway approximately 900 metres long and a basic passenger building handling arrivals and departures, rather than a large multi-terminal complex.
Kéniéba is connected by road to the regional capital Kayes, about 249 km to the north, and to Bamako, roughly 481 km away by road via the RN24 corridor. Road access to the airport from the town is short, and onward travel is usually arranged by taxi or private vehicle.
As a small regional airstrip, facilities are limited, so travellers should plan for basic services. It remains a useful local gateway for residents, workers and visitors travelling to and from the Kéniéba area.
