About Kaufana Airport
Kaufana Airport (EUA) is the main airport serving 'Eua island in the Kingdom of Tonga. Located about 3 km southeast of 'Ohonua, the island's main town, it handles domestic flights that connect 'Eua with Tongatapu and the capital Nuku'alofa.
The airport is small and functional, with a single runway of around 800 metres and a compact terminal building. Scheduled services are operated during daylight by Lulutai Airlines, and the hop from Fua'amotu International Airport takes only about eight minutes, making it one of the shortest commercial flights in the world.
Because the airport is small, passenger facilities are limited to a basic waiting area and check-in space, and there is no on-site refuelling. Ground transport is arranged by road, with 'Ohonua just a short drive away and onward access to guesthouses, villages and natural attractions across the island.
Despite its basic infrastructure, Kaufana Airport is an essential travel link for residents and visitors moving between 'Eua and the rest of Tonga.
