Located in the Zona Esmeralda area, it is used mainly by flight schools, private aircraft, and executive aviation rather than scheduled commercial airlines.
The airport has a single asphalt runway designated 04/22, with a total length of about 1,475 meters, together with aircraft parking aprons, hangars, and a terminal building with a control tower. It closed for renovation in June 2012 and reopened in June 2013 with a rebuilt runway, expanded apron, and improved facilities.
Situated roughly 25 kilometers northwest of central Mexico City, the airport is close to the industrial and business areas of Naucalpan and Tlalnepantla. Onward travel is mainly by road, with private transfers, taxis, and pre-arranged transport the most practical options for reaching the city and surrounding areas.
