About Johnson County Executive Airport
Johnson County Executive Airport (OJC) is a public general aviation airport serving Olathe and the Kansas City metropolitan area. Located between Olathe and Overland Park at 151st Street and Pflumm Road, it supports corporate, business, charter and private aviation rather than scheduled airline service.
The airport operates a single 4,097-foot runway with parallel taxiways, a Federal contract air traffic control tower and instrument approaches, and is home to three full-service fixed-base operators. With more than 40,000 annual operations and about 120 based aircraft, it is traditionally among the busiest towered airports in Kansas.
Originally built in the early 1940s as Morse Field, a World War II naval auxiliary field supporting the Olathe Naval Air Station, the airport was transferred to the City of Olathe in 1951 and to Johnson County in 1967. It is now managed by the Johnson County Airport Commission.
Located about four miles southeast of central Olathe and roughly 25 miles southwest of downtown Kansas City, the airport offers convenient road access to the metro area, with ground transportation options connecting to nearby business districts, hotels and surrounding communities.
