King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport serves Jazan, the capital of Jazan Province in southwestern Saudi Arabia, and is the region's main air gateway. Established in 1978 as a regional airport, it later began handling international services, with its first international flight from Cairo arriving in 2015.
Located about 3 km from the Jazan city centre on the Red Sea coast, the airport connects the province with major Saudi cities such as Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam through carriers including Saudia, flynas and flyadeal. It also offers regional international routes to destinations such as Cairo, Dubai and Sharjah.
The airport currently operates a single main terminal divided into departure and arrival sectors, together with a smaller terminal used for short-haul international flights, and a 3,050-metre runway. A larger new terminal is under development to expand passenger capacity and improve the travel experience.
