Jim Kelly Field is a public-use airport serving Lexington, Nebraska, and the surrounding Dawson County area. Opened in January 1946, it has supported general aviation, private flights, charter operations, business aviation and agricultural flying in central Nebraska.
The airport is located about two miles northwest of downtown Lexington and is owned and operated by the Lexington Airport Authority. It has two runways: a concrete runway, 14/32, and a turf runway, 1/19, along with hangars, tiedowns and a small passenger terminal and lounge. It does not have scheduled commercial airline service.
Ground access is primarily by private vehicle, taxi or pre-arranged transportation, and the airport is only a short drive from Lexington's hotels, businesses and downtown. Nearby communities include Cozad, Gothenburg and Kearney.
Despite its compact size, the field provides 100LL and Jet A fuel, self-serve fuel availability and pilot support services, making it a practical stop for private and business aircraft traveling through Nebraska.
