About Inukjuak Airport
Inukjuak Airport is the only scheduled airport serving Inukjuak, an Inuit community on the eastern shore of Hudson Bay in Nunavik, northern Quebec. Because the village has no road connection to southern Quebec, the airport is an essential year-round link for passengers and freight.
Located about 2 km from the village centre, the airport has a single gravel runway and a compact passenger terminal that handles Air Inuit's regional network. Scheduled flights connect Inukjuak with Montreal and other Nunavik communities, including Puvirnituq, Kuujjuaq, Kuujjuarapik, Akulivik, Ivujivik, Salluit, Sanikiluaq and Umiujaq.
Most onward travel is local. Passengers are usually met at the terminal by pre-arranged transfers, accommodation pickups or local vehicles for the short journey into the village.
Facilities are limited but practical for a northern regional airport, with a waiting area and basic passenger services in the terminal, while food, medical and accommodation services are available in the village nearby. The airport's small scale keeps arrivals and departures straightforward.
