About Industrial Airpark
Industrial Airpark is a private-use general aviation airport located about 6 miles northwest of Hobbs, New Mexico. It serves private, business and glider operations and forms part of a wider industrial airpark in southeastern New Mexico.
The site began as Hobbs Army Airfield, activated in July 1943 as a World War II training base for B-17 pilots and crews. After the war the property was transferred to the City of Hobbs and later redeveloped as Hobbs Industrial Airpark, with the airfield now supporting general aviation activity rather than scheduled airline flights.
The airpark has two asphalt runways and operates without a control tower. On-site services include aviation fuel, aircraft maintenance, hangars and tiedowns, a flight school and an FAA computerized testing center, while the nearby Lea County Regional Airport provides the area's commercial air service.
Road access connects the airpark to Hobbs and surrounding communities such as Lovington, Eunice and Carlsbad, with onward travel by private vehicle, taxi, rental car or pre-arranged transfer.
