Île des Pins Airport serves the Isle of Pines, a small island in New Caledonia's Southern Province known for its lagoon, beaches and Araucaria pines. The airport operates domestic services, mainly Air Calédonie flights to and from Nouméa, and provides the island's main air connection for visitors and residents. Located in the Moué tribal area near the centre of the island, the airport sits close to Kuto and Kanuméra Bays and is about 10 minutes by road from Vao, the main village. Its single terminal handles arrivals and departures in one compact hall, keeping passenger formalities simple and quick. There are no taxis on site; travellers typically use private shuttles, hotel transfers or pre-arranged vehicles to reach resorts and bays. Car rental and group transport may be organised locally, but transport should be arranged in advance because options on the island are limited. The airport's small scale supports a relaxed, island-style arrival experience, with basic facilities including a snack bar, a small shop and an information point. It functions as the main gateway for visitors travelling to the Isle of Pines.
