About Ouvéa Airport
Ouvéa Airport, also known as Ouloup Airport, is the only air gateway to Ouvéa island in the Loyalty Islands of New Caledonia. It handles domestic Air Calédonie flights connecting the island with Nouméa-Magenta and the nearby island of Lifou, supporting residents, supplies and visitors.
Located at Ouloup in the south of Ouvéa, the airport sits about 5 km and roughly 10 minutes by road from Fayaoué, the island's main town. It has a single asphalt runway and one compact passenger terminal designed for small ATR turboprop aircraft.
The airport has no taxi rank, so most visitors arrange guesthouse shuttles, pre-booked taxis or private transfers, while rental vehicles can be delivered by local agencies. This air link is also used for medical evacuation and the island's low-key lagoon tourism.
