About Huntingburg Regional Airport

Huntingburg Regional Airport is the public general aviation airport serving Huntingburg and Dubois County in southern Indiana. Founded by Frosty Jones in 1938 as a grass-dirt airstrip, it has grown into a full-service facility supporting business aviation, flight training, emergency response and regional economic development.

Located about three miles south of Huntingburg, the airport is operated by the Dubois County Airport Authority and accommodates everything from single-engine aircraft to corporate jets. Its facilities include 13 hangars housing more than 30 aircraft and a 5,501-foot asphalt runway.

In 2021, runway improvements added Indiana's first public airport tunnel, and in 2026 the airport opened the Frosty Jones Terminal Building to replace its 1960s-era terminal. The new building includes a pilot lounge, quiet rooms for flight planning, conference space, an observation mezzanine and classroom space for the Patoka Valley Career and Technical Education Center aviation program.

The airport sits along U.S. 231 and provides road access to Huntingburg, Jasper, Ferdinand, Santa Claus, French Lick and Evansville, making it a practical entry point for visitors and business travelers arriving in southern Indiana.
