Humberside Airport (HUY)

Humberside Airport is an international airport at Kirmington in North Lincolnshire, England, serving Hull, Grimsby, Scunthorpe and the wider Yorkshire and Humber region. Opened in 1974 on a former Second World War airfield, it began life as Kirmington Airport before taking the name Humberside Airport shortly afterwards.

Located around 32 km from central Hull and roughly 24 km from Grimsby and Scunthorpe, the airport offers scheduled domestic and international flights alongside helicopter operations that support offshore energy activity in the North Sea. Its single passenger terminal keeps the departure and arrival process compact and straightforward.

The terminal is arranged across three floors, with check-in and arrivals on the ground floor, security and the departure lounge on the first floor, and a food court on the upper mezzanine. Passengers can use shops, cafés, restaurants, a lounge, Wi-Fi, charging points, baby changing and accessibility services while moving through the airport.

Road access via the A15 and A63 links the airport to Hull across the Humber Bridge, while buses, taxis, private transfers and car hire provide onward connections to towns across North Lincolnshire, East Yorkshire and the surrounding coast. Its smaller scale means shorter walking distances and a generally convenient passenger experience.
