Opened in 1946, Hermiston Municipal Airport is a city-owned, public-use general aviation airport serving Hermiston and the wider Umatilla County area of eastern Oregon. It supports private, business and agricultural flying and is an important local link for communities and industries in the Columbia River region.
Located about 3.7 km (2 mi) southeast of central Hermiston, the airport is reached by road and operates a single asphalt runway, 5/23, measuring approximately 1,372 m (4,501 ft). It has no control tower and no scheduled airline service.
The small terminal building provides a meeting area, pilot lounge, restrooms and food vending, while the fixed-base operator supplies 100LL and Jet A fuel, aircraft parking and ground support. A courtesy car and off-site rental cars help arriving pilots continue to Hermiston and nearby towns.
