About Hawk Inlet Seaplane Base
Hawk Inlet Seaplane Base is a privately operated water aerodrome in Southeast Alaska, serving the Hawk Inlet area and the nearby Greens Creek Mine on Admiralty Island. The facility has been in use since 1954 and is owned by Hecla Greens Creek Mining Company.
It operates three water runways for floatplane traffic and has no control tower, scheduled passenger terminal, or published instrument procedures. Because of its location, access is primarily by floatplane or boat rather than by road.
The base lies about 15 nautical miles southwest of Juneau. Travelers can connect through Juneau International Airport, Juneau seaplane facilities, or the regional ferry system to reach the city and other destinations in Southeast Alaska.
