Opened in April 1940 and owned by the City of Hastings, it primarily supports private, charter and business aviation rather than scheduled airline service.
Located about 2 miles northwest of downtown Hastings, the airport is a short drive from the city centre and provides convenient access to central Nebraska communities and regional businesses. Its airfield includes two concrete runways, Runway 14/32 and Runway 4/22.
