Harry Stern Airport is a public-use general aviation airport serving Wahpeton, North Dakota and the surrounding Red River Valley, including Breckenridge, Minnesota. Activated in November 1947 and owned by the Wahpeton Airport Authority, it does not offer scheduled passenger airline service and primarily supports private aviation, charter and air taxi operations.
Located about 1 mile (1.85 km) south of Wahpeton's central business district, the airport has two runways: a 5,100-foot concrete runway and a 3,254-foot turf runway that is closed during the winter months. A single terminal/administration building and the on-site FBO handle arrivals, flight planning and aircraft services.
The airport is reached by road from Wahpeton and nearby Breckenridge, with taxis, rental cars, private transfers and pre-arranged ground transportation providing onward connections to the city centre, Fargo and other regional destinations.
