About Harrisburg International Airport

Harrisburg International Airport is the primary commercial airport serving Harrisburg, Pennsylvania's capital city, and the central Pennsylvania region. Commercial service began in 1969 on a former military airfield, and the current single-terminal complex opened in 2004.

Located in Middletown, roughly 9 miles southeast of downtown Harrisburg, MDT provides domestic connections through airlines such as American, Delta, United and Allegiant to major hubs and nonstop leisure destinations. The terminal houses three concourses, A, B and C, arranged around a central security checkpoint and main terminal services.

The airport is reached via State Route 283 and nearby interstates, with on-site parking, rental cars, taxis, ride-hailing, hotel shuttles and local bus connections to the Middletown Amtrak station. This makes it easy to continue to Harrisburg, Lancaster, Hershey and other central Pennsylvania destinations.

Facilities include dining and shopping, free Wi-Fi, charging points, the Susquehanna Club lounge, a nursing pod and an on-site Fairfield Inn by Marriott hotel, supporting both business and leisure travel.
