About Harris County Airport
Harris County Airport is a county-owned public-use airport serving Pine Mountain and the surrounding Harris County area of West Georgia. It operates primarily as a general aviation facility, supporting private pilots, business aircraft and visitors traveling to the region.
Located about 2 miles southwest of the Pine Mountain town center, the airport has a single asphalt runway, 09/27, measuring 5,002 feet in length. Instrument approach procedures, AWOS weather reporting, and both 100LL and Jet A+ fueling make it a practical stop for piston and turbine aircraft.
The airport is especially convenient for travelers heading to Callaway Gardens and F.D. Roosevelt State Park, two of the area's best-known destinations. It also provides general aviation access to nearby Columbus, LaGrange and the broader West Georgia region, with Atlanta located further north.
Because there is no control tower, pilots coordinate arrivals and departures on the common traffic advisory frequency. On-site services include transient tie-downs, hangar storage, and airframe and engine repair through the local FBO, making the airport a convenient gateway for private and business travel.
