About Hamad International Airport
Hamad International Airport is Qatar's main international gateway, serving Doha and the wider Gulf region. Opened in 2014, it became the country's principal commercial aviation hub and the home airport of Qatar Airways, handling the large majority of international passenger traffic into and out of Qatar.
Located approximately 16 km east of central Doha, the airport operates through a single, integrated passenger terminal with five concourses, A through E. Its layout is designed for smooth connections, with Concourse C as the central hub and the newer Concourses D and E adding capacity for international flights.
The airport is connected to the city by the Doha Metro Red Line, Karwa taxis, buses, private transfers and road links, making onward travel to the city centre, West Bay, The Pearl and other districts straightforward.
