About Guadalajara International Airport
Guadalajara International Airport is the main international airport serving Guadalajara and the western state of Jalisco. Opened in 1966, it is named in honour of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla and ranks among Mexico's busiest airports for both passengers and air cargo.
Located about 17 kilometres south of the city centre, on the road to Chapala, the airport serves domestic, United States, Central American and other international routes. It has two runways and two passenger terminals, with Terminal 1 handling most domestic and international flights.
The airport is connected to Guadalajara by taxi, ride-hailing services, buses, private transfers and road links, with typical travel times of around 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic. Car rental desks and group transport options are also available.
