About Greater Binghamton Airport
Greater Binghamton Airport is the main regional airport serving Binghamton, Broome County and the surrounding Southern Tier of New York. It opened in 1951 as Broome County Airport and was later renamed to honor Edwin A. Link, the Binghamton-area aviation pioneer who invented the Link Trainer flight simulator.
Located in Johnson City about 8 miles north of downtown Binghamton, the airport provides nonstop commercial service to Detroit through Delta Air Lines and supports general aviation across the region. Its single passenger terminal brings check-in, security, gates and baggage claim together in one compact building, making arrivals and departures straightforward.
Ground transportation includes taxis, rideshares, rental cars from Avis and Budget, local bus connections and free short-term parking for pick-ups and drop-offs, so continuing to Binghamton, Johnson City, Endicott, Vestal and nearby communities is relatively easy.
With free Wi-Fi, a café, a gift shop, charging points and accessible facilities, BGM functions as a convenient low-stress gateway for the Southern Tier.
