Governor Francisco Gabrielli International Airport is the main international airport serving Mendoza and the wider Cuyo region. Commonly known as El Plumerillo, it acts as the primary gateway to Argentina’s wine country and to Andean destinations in western Argentina.
The airport traces its origins to an early aviation field known as Los Tamarindos and was inaugurated in its modern form in 1954, with the current terminal complex opened in 1995. It is located about 8 km northeast of central Mendoza in the El Plumerillo area of Las Heras.
The single passenger terminal handles domestic and international flights and offers check-in, security, arrivals, dining, shopping and lounge facilities. The airport is connected to the city by local buses, taxis, remises, private transfers and road links such as the San Juan–Mendoza highway.
