Zapala Airport serves the city of Zapala and the surrounding Neuquén Province in northern Patagonia, Argentina. It functions as a regional air gateway for domestic, charter and general aviation traffic rather than a large scheduled hub.
The airport is located about 10 kilometres south of Zapala along National Route 40. It features a single asphalt runway (09/27) measuring 2,200 metres in length and 40 metres in width, together with taxiways, an aircraft apron and a compact passenger terminal of roughly 300 square metres.
After a period of closure, the airport reopened in July 2015 following infrastructure work that resurfaced the runway and renovated the terminal, lighting and perimeter fencing. Since then it has mainly supported charter and general aviation operations, with local authorities exploring ways to expand commercial activity.
Road access along National Route 40 connects the airport to Zapala and the wider Neuquén region. Travellers can reach the city centre by car, taxi or private transfer, and the airport provides a practical access point for nearby Patagonian destinations.
