General Enrique Mosconi International Airport is the main airport serving Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut Province, and the central Patagonia region. It handles mostly domestic and regional flights and is an important connection point for travellers visiting the oil-producing city and nearby coastal areas.
The airport opened in 1929 and was inaugurated with an Aeroposta Argentina flight between Bahía Blanca and Comodoro Rivadavia on 1 November 1929. A new terminal was built in 1952, and the facility was named after Argentine military engineer Enrique Mosconi. A modernized, LEED-certified passenger terminal was inaugurated in 2019, making it Argentina's first sustainable airport.
Situated about 11 km north of the city centre, the airport is reached by taxi, remis, bus and private transfer services. The single passenger terminal includes check-in counters, a pre-boarding area with two boarding gates and jet bridges, baggage claim and a range of passenger facilities.
The terminal offers a gastronomic area, cafés, shops with regional products, a VIP lounge, free Wi-Fi and parking, providing practical amenities for both departing and arriving passengers.
