About Gordon Municipal Airport
Gordon Municipal Airport is a public-use general aviation airport serving Gordon and Sheridan County in northwestern Nebraska. Opened in February 1946, it supports private, business, agricultural, and medical flights across the Sandhills region.
Located about one mile east of downtown Gordon along U.S. Highway 20, the airport operates two asphalt runways: the main runway 4/22 and a secondary crosswind runway 11/29. There is no control tower, and general aviation activity is coordinated through local communications and airport facilities.
The airport provides 100LL aviation fuel through a 24/7 self-service terminal, hangar and tiedown space, a pilot lobby, a courtesy vehicle, and AWOS weather reporting. It also serves as a base for air ambulance transport supporting Gordon Memorial Hospital.
Although Gordon Municipal Airport does not offer scheduled commercial airline service, it remains an important aviation link for residents, ranchers, and visitors traveling to Gordon and the wider Pine Ridge and Sandhills areas. Ground connections into town are short and straightforward.
