Gerardo Tobar López Airport (BUN)

Gerardo Tobar López Airport is the main air gateway serving Buenaventura, Colombia's largest Pacific seaport and one of the busiest port cities in the Valle del Cauca Department. As a small regional airport, it primarily handles domestic flights connecting the city with Bogotá and other national hubs, supporting port executives, business travellers, government personnel and local residents.

Located roughly 10 km from central Buenaventura, the airport operates through a single compact passenger terminal and a 1,200-metre asphalt runway. Scheduled commercial services are provided mainly by SATENA and Aexpa, and Colombia's civil aviation authority, Aerocivil, has outlined plans to extend the runway and improve capacity for larger aircraft.

Ground connections to the city rely on taxis, local busetas and colectivos, private transfers and rental cars. The tourist pier, used for boat trips to Juanchaco and other Pacific coast destinations, is typically reachable in about 20 to 45 minutes depending on traffic.

Although passenger facilities are modest, the terminal offers essential services including a small café, a shop for travel essentials and seating, making BUN a practical entry point for visitors and business travellers arriving on Colombia's Pacific coast.
