Futuna Airport is a small domestic airfield serving Futuna, the easternmost inhabited island in Vanuatu's Tafea Province. It provides the island's main air link, with Air Vanuatu flights normally routing through Tanna and operating about twice a week.
The airfield has a single short coral-surfaced runway and a simple open-air shelter rather than a conventional passenger terminal. Operations are limited to daylight hours and depend on weather, reflecting the airport's role as a remote outer-island airstrip.
Located on the north side of the island, the airfield is about 3 km from the main village of Mohoun'gha and close to other small communities such as Ipao and Napoua. There are no regular taxis or buses at the airport, so visitors usually arrange a pickup with their accommodation or host in advance.
Despite its basic facilities, the airport is a practical gateway for reaching Futuna's small communities and coastal areas, with onward travel across the island mostly by local vehicle or on foot.
