Fundación Airport (FDA)

Fundación Airport is a small regional airport serving the town of Fundación in Colombia’s Magdalena Department. Rather than acting as a large scheduled hub, it provides a local gateway for general aviation, charter flights and limited regional operations in the northern part of the country.

The airport lies about 2 km from central Fundación and close to the town of Aracataca, with the larger coastal cities of Santa Marta and Barranquilla reachable by road in roughly two hours. Its position makes it a practical entry point for the banana-growing region and the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, including areas near Tayrona National Park.

The facility operates a single basic terminal with limited passenger services. Ground access is straightforward by car, taxi or pre-arranged transfer along local roads, while longer-distance travel connects through the regional bus network and the commercial airports at Santa Marta and Barranquilla.

Because scheduled commercial service is limited, most travelers use Fundación Airport as a regional link and continue through larger airports for onward flights. Its compact layout keeps arrivals and departures simple and easy to navigate.
