Fulton County Executive Airport/Charlie Brown Field is a public general aviation and corporate reliever airport serving Atlanta and Fulton County. Opened in 1949 and owned by Fulton County, it handles private, business and charter traffic that would otherwise add to congestion at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Located roughly 7 miles west of downtown Atlanta and close to Interstate 20 and Interstate 285, the airport has two runways, a 24-hour control tower and instrument approaches that support reliable all-weather access. Its name comes from former Atlanta politician Charles M. Brown, whose nickname gave the field its familiar local name.
Two fixed-base operators, Signature Aviation and Hill Aircraft & Leasing, provide passenger and crew lounges, fueling, hangarage, maintenance and ground transportation coordination, while the terminal/administration building supports pilots and visitors.
With direct road access to downtown, Midtown, Buckhead and west-side business districts, the airport offers a convenient gateway for business and private travelers moving through the Atlanta metro area.
