Fort Stockton-Pecos County Airport is a public-use airport serving Fort Stockton and Pecos County in West Texas. Originally opened in 1942 as Gibbs Field, later known as Fort Stockton Field, it began as a United States Army Air Forces pilot training base during World War II before being transferred for civilian use after the war.
Today the airport primarily supports general aviation, private and business aircraft operations and regional travel, and it is owned and operated by Pecos County. Scheduled airline service ended decades ago, so the facility now functions mainly as a general aviation gateway with an asphalt primary runway, a secondary asphalt runway and supporting turf runways.
The airport is located about two miles northwest of Fort Stockton, a short drive from the city centre. Ground access relies largely on rental cars, private transfers, chauffeur services and other pre-arranged road transport, since the area has limited public transit options.
